Features

• Invade windows - with NTFS write support now available it should be a priority to get it working to invade all those machines running XP/Vista & show the users how slow that is in comparison to d:b.

• screen wish: 800x480

• pxe client boot. like ClusterKnoppix does.

• rdesktop, vnc, nx, etc. like dls.nexedi.org

• OSD & remote control burn vcd/dvd from handycam

• ALSA 1.0.8, for better sound module support (specifically the Motif R and a number of USB keyboards)
• something similar to ltsp, easy configuration of remote X server-terminals architecture
• What about if I could install a new application on my hard-disk and then burn a new Dynebolic Bootable CD including it?

  • Necessary kernel patch "OpenMosix" is not available for kernel versions above 2.4.x -martin

  • The FATX driver for Linux 2.6 is broken: serious Linux distributions for XBoxes must still use the 2.4 kernel. When they come out with Dynebolic 2, we'll lose XBox support for FATX formatted partitions (if the XBox has cromwell instead, you could wipe the drive clean and format it all as an ext3 filesystem).
    • Broken as of when? They work fine for many people.

• System to manage modules on a docked system. Have experimented with having a directory (park) to keep unwanted modules in (un-needed modules hog RAM). At the moment I have just used Midnight Commander to move modules between the /modules & the /park folders. Perhaps a nice frontend to manage listing, parking & unparking modules with a reboot button as well? Ultimately the means to load/unload modules on a running sytem

  • This is still in cvs, but already quite usable, GNU/Linux version will probably be in cvs for a long long while, so it would be kewl to include it anyway, oh and there's already a Debian package somewhere. Including it will be a great way to attract hurds of enthusiastic Mac OS X musicians

• Qsynth - frontend for fluidsynth. Compiles & runs on dyne with no added dependencies. Is small mature & stable.

• Muse - (same name as Jaromil's but a different project) an audio/midi sequencer. Great interface & really nice flexible mixer. Runs with no added dependencies. Handles soundfonts using fluidsynth. Slackware package worked great on dyne 2.4.2 [ http://www.muse-sequencer.org/ ] Have compiled & made a module for d:b so it works.

• Isomaster - gui for editing iso images. Provides an easy way to make simple modifications to a d:b iso such as adding/removing modules or extracting & editing configuration files such as dyne.cfg. Just need to edit the install prefix in the makefile & it easily compiles & installs into a dyne module with no added dependencies needed.

• Milkytracker [ http://www.milkytracker.net/?DOWNLOAD ] , a FT2 compatible tracker. NOTE: respectfully I do not think this will ever happen as Milkytracker appears not to be open source - Only binaries are available on its webpage. Having said that, as milkytracker runs from its folder it could easily be made a module with the dynesdk but I am not sure of the legal aspect of posting such a module on the net)
