1 Introduction
This is a concept idea, with Cyberdeck CCG (collectible card game) rules and Cyberdeck OG
(Online Game, the ruby client), this is the third (and fourth) part of the Cyberdeck community
project. The web game will permit people likes play Cyberdeck, to live in the Cyberdeck world,
interact with other players and worlds. This is a prelude for the future MMORPG, and can add
to the MMORPG the possibility to continue to play even if you are out of your home or country.
2 The Background
The background of Cyberdeck WG (Web Game) is the same of Cyberdeck CCG, but here has
been enriched with places, companies, people, and last but not least other people, the history of
cyberdeck world will be written by users.
The world is cyberpunk world, deeply inspired by W. Gibson and M. Sterling novels, and all the
Cyberpunk RPG we played (Cyberpunk 2020, GURPS Cyberpunk, Real World Cyberpunk).
A world full of multinational company that gain the power, the Nation concept has changed, not
more democracies but oligopolies owned by the multinational companies, the cyberspace has
grown and something in the net changed. In this situation 4 main faction are emerging, The
Police, that is the dirty hand of law, a law written by states nobody care. Police move as they
want, using public money to protect business and normal people. The Business, if you are not
on your own, you are in the business. All the multinational companies, big and medium
companies rent people service to continue their stairs to the total control. The Crime faction,
Yakuza, Mafia, Organized Crime, all together to take control of the cities, stop police
intervention and free market. And least but not last the Underground faction, thousands groups
of free people, that want to stop the multinational companies rise up, that avoid power to people
and give to inhuman entities. To protect their software, the companies produced a Deck, a neural
connection to the network. And the software is not more on bits, but hardcoded inside chips
where is not possible to copy over or duplicate. The chips are really small, and are called
“cards” for their shape. The information has became the money of the world, and more
information you have, more power you hold. Using the decks and the cards you need to gain
informations, respect, or money, or political power, or anything you want. Use your avatar to
“live” in the next future.
3 The Web Game
The web game is structured in order to permit users to play in a Rpg (role playing game).
Differently from other WG, the scope is “live” in the world, not dominate, but change.

The are 2 world, the real world, where is possible to travel and interact, and the Cyberspace
world, where you can do the same things, but faster and in a funnier way.
You can become one of the best netrunner in the world, or open a bar, or control group of
people, or change something with alliances creation, or becoming a great information dealer and
seeker, or become a researched card seller, or become one of the best scientist around the planet.
It's on your own.
4 The MMORPG
The MMORPG will arrive, it's the last step in Cyberdeck world creation. A 3D client will permit
to interact with the Cyberdeck world more deeply and directly. But the web game will remain
forever, in order to permit to continue to play also away from your machine.
5 Rules
Next you can read some rules of the WG. Just some ideas to understand what will be your
favourite game. Many things can be changed and a LOT will be added (to add more RPG
experience).
5.1 The Users and RPG
The User creation is really important in a web game that would become an RPG. A lot of
information will be gathered, skills and other things, here we begin a little list:

5.1.1 Reputation and Factions
In the world exists 4 main factions. They gathered all the power on the planet, they collaborate
each other and fight each other. The Crime faction is composed by all the organized forms of
crime of the XX century. Mafia, Yakuza, Japanese mafia, Marseille, Islamic crime, Christian
crime and all forms of little or medium organized crime talks more in those years, and want to
control all the business that can. In opposite to the Crime there is the Police factions, what rests
of all state intelligences, municipal polices, and security agencies. They are paid from state or
business to stop the crime power, using the underground group also fro their plans. Then we
have the Business faction, all multinational and national, and medium and small companies
have all one goal in their existence, GREED. Greed means money, that means power. Using
both crime and police to let the state role only apart from REAL power, have warned only by
normal, and poor people, that have anyway access to technology and wants to let the people,
cities free from anybody control, right state, and ethic companies. But no ethic can be used in
The Authors Pierluigi Maori aka Newmark and Francesco Arcarese aka Sundog and Giuliano Fidanza aka Yonderboy

Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivative Works 2.5 Italy License
order to fight that match. Those people and group form the Underground Faction, fighting
against the market, working for police and crime. Any person usually interact with more than
one faction, but the more a faction is your mother, the more help you have from other and free
access to a lot of facilities. But, there is a but, the more you are friendly with a faction, the more
the opposite faction will fight you, and you have problem to access some services. Choose well
which road to ride, will change your life. Here is where the reputation works. Faction mission,
alliance or group or company joining, any action you do in the world, make a faction closer or
farer. Add reputation in your faction (loosing in opposite faction) means help and problem, but
if you rest in the middle, no help and no access to some stuff.
Cities can be under the control of a specific faction, if the majority of the public places are
controlled by a faction. A city under faction control, can sell stuff that can't be sold in other
places. The same for the research. Any faction action will be speeded up in a controlled faction
city.
5.2 The 2 worlds: real world
The real world is our world, many cities (at least 20) are signed on the map and the user can
interact with them. Inside a city there are many places to interact with (a list with explanation
follow).
To travel between real world cities a train are used. Each city has one Train Station and a lot of
parking places. Here you can buy cards, houses, make contacts, play cyberdeck, connect to
internet, eat something special.
Every place in the real world is near to some faction, if you are not friend of that faction, you
can't access to that place.
5.2.1 Map
The map is where you can move between places. There is a map of the World (signing cities,
and available only inside Train stations) and a map of the City. On the map are signed all the places
you know (you have to explore sectors of the cities in order to know places, or you need that
someone gives you pieces of map for information). Every City has many or few of different place
(bar, banks, Game centre) but only one market and only one train station.
5.2.2 Shop
Shop can sell different things, Deck shop, Card Shop, Furnitures Shop, Information Shop, Drugs
shop (skills can be temporarly changed using drugs).
5.2.3 Market
The market is the place where you can sell or buy informations, cards, furnitures. The system is
auction based. Anyone can place something to sell. A Control system check cheating.

5.2.4 Job rent
In Job rent you can find a work (to earn some money) where your skills are requested, here
some mission can be also submitted by users in order to accomplish in some work or mission.
5.2.5 Bar
What you can do in a bar? Drink, meet people, make contact, exchange anything, connect to
internet (in protected mode, no attack are be allowed).
5.2.6 Game Centre
Here you can come with your deck and fight with other people or participate in tournament
organised sometime.
5.2.7 Houses
In each city there are a number of house in rent, you can rent any number of houses you want,
you can put an house in sub-rental for short period. In your house you can do anything written in
House chapter.
5.2.8 Public Enter
Those are something like a public phone site. From here you can enter in cyberspace but only in
protected mode. No attack are allowed but someone can attack you meanwhile you are connected.
Is the cheapest way to connect in a city.
5.2.9 Train Station
From here you can access World Map to move between cities. Some time is needed to move,
and some money too.
5.3 The 2 worlds: cyberspace
The cyberspace is the other face of the world, anything (or most of) exist in real world exist also
in cyberspace, and more more than that.
Here you can visit places (shop, bar, game center) as in real life, but you can also attack a place,
depending on the strength of the defence, and the ante putted in defence (to defend a place you have
to decide the ante, and then you can defend with a complex network based on the ante value). The
ante can be in information (data) or in cards.
5.3.1 Map
The cyberspace map is different from the cities maps. There are no limit in distance, a place can
The Authors Pierluigi Maori aka Newmark and Francesco Arcarese aka Sundog and Giuliano Fidanza aka Yonderboy
release this web game concept under a
Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivative Works 2.5 Italy License
be near another even if in real world are really far. The Cyberspace is more slow to explore, in fact
where an hour is needed for a sector of a citie, a day is needed for a sector of cyberspace. But you
can know the address of a place in order to reach it instantly. Address can be gathered in bar,
speaking with other players, reading the news, collecting informations from your attacks.
The cyberspace can be scanned, in order to know piece of map, entry point, missions, new
facilities and companies. You can scan in 2 way, exhaustive scan, that reveal every place in the
portion, that means private entrance and missions and so on. Otherwise the Fast Scan can be
accomplished, only public places are showed with a fast scan, a fast scan is 10 times faster than
exhaustive scan.
Every place in the Cyberspace has a faction, if you want to enter, you must have a bit of
reputation in that. If you want to attack otherwise, you can't if is of your faction. Choose well your
target.
5.3.2 Shop
The same as real life one, but usually sell different things with higher price and is slower to
have goods. (15% of shipping cost)
5.3.3 Market
The same as real life one, but usually sell at higher price and is slower to have goods (10% of
shipping)
5.3.4 Job rent
The same as real life one, but usually sell different works (only netrunner)
5.3.5 Bar
The same as real life one, but you can't drink
5.3.6 Game Centre
The same as real life one.
5.3.7 Houses
You can attack an house of meet someone if you have the connection password. An house can
be a private house or also a company site.
5.3.8 Public Enter
You can attack a guy that is connected to the public enter in real life.
The Authors Pierluigi Maori aka Newmark and Francesco Arcarese aka Sundog and Giuliano Fidanza aka Yonderboy
release this web game concept under a

5.3.9 Train Station
You can check prices and time and attack it.
5.4 Home sweet Home
That's your home, you can arrange it in any way you want. When you begin you have 1 home in
the city you choose to start from. But you have to pay the loan in order to rest inside. No fees to
connect are needed. You can store here everything you want (at your own risk).
5.4.1 Research
In home you can research. Some research needs a furniture, some other only your time. You can
research cards, decks or skills. The time needed by research pass only when you are at home (some
furnitures permit to leave something at home working for you). The speed of research you do is rose
up if you have a good reputation in the research faction, otherwise can be very very slow, even with
very expensive furnitures.
5.4.1.1 Cards
You can research in any card skill... once you know enough on the skills needed by a card, you
are able to produce it by yourself (REALLY slowly). To produce you need a furniture.
5.4.1.2 Decks
You can research on your deck improvement and sell info to produce little parts.
5.4.1.3 Skills
You can study ANY skills.
5.4.1.4 Technology tree
Will follow all the technology tree.
5.4.2 Defence
Here you can set up the defence of your home/company. You have to decide an Ante (in
information or cards), once you decided that you have a number of point to use in setting up the
defence network. Highest price cards needs more point. The AI level can be choosen spending
points. The network can be fixed or has some kind of security controller that play cards in order to
defend it.
The Authors Pierluigi Maori aka Newmark and Francesco Arcarese aka Sundog and Giuliano Fidanza aka Yonderboy
release this web game concept under a
Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivative Works 2.5 Italy License
5.4.3 Furnitures
The furnitures are needed for a lot of things, research, produce, improve defence or improve
quality of life.
5.4.4 Decks
The deck is used to connect to the cyberspace. You start with a basic deck (not less than 60
cards) with no bonus. Other deck can be buy or improvement can be done on your.
5.5 Attacks and Defence
What is a Game without the possibility to attack or defend a place.
The attacks can be done in real life (with a statistical support with different range of difficulty and
damage) or (more often) in cyberspace. Connect, put an address and Attack. Any place has an ante,
you have to put the same value ante too in order to attack, if you gain, you win the ante, otherwise
you loose. You can attack a place with someone connected or not. If someone is connected to the
place (it has 30 second to decide if defending or leave the network do the job) you fight against
another person with cyberdeck rules, otherwise you fight against a pre-ordered network.
5.5.1 Defending buildings
Buildings can be defended using cards and research and furnitures. Usually to defend a building
you need to set up a network, using Cyberdeck CCG rules and cards. In order to set up network you
can use only nodes, chip, AI and set up a little deck (10 cards) to play smartcard and cracker at
needs (using some trigger, as “if this node is attacked play that smart”) with a bit of logical
approach, using an easy interface. The number and value of cards you can set in defence depend
from the Ante and number of turns needed to break the network, the more turn you give, more point
you have to spend in cards. The Ante is some data (informations) and cards you put in your network
(under some node) that you can loose if the attacker gain the node, the node must be reachable from
the frontend. The number of level of your network cost point, each card cost a 25% of point in the
backend, 50% in the backoffice, 75% behind, 125% , 200%, 325% and so on, using a fibonacci
series. In the mini deck the cards costs all the same of the last level, so be carefull when you try to
put your ante too far.
5.5.2 Attacking buildings
Attacking a building mean attacking a network, when you attack you have to wait 2 minutes in
order to permit the defending player to defend the building. If your building is attacked you will
have a popup on the interface, then if you are near a connectible place (any house, any public enter)
you can choose a deck and defend the place attacked (you can also know some info about your
enemy and some about his deck). Otherwise the attacker will fight against the network

5.5.3 Play a Game
Playing a game in cyberdeck means play with Cyberdeck OG (Online Game), refer to
Cyberdeck CCG for rules and http://www.cyberdeckgame.net/ to download the system independent
ruby interface.
5.6 Informations
Informations are the most valuable thing in the Cyberdeck world, and permit to earn lot of
money. Informations are piece of text, images, stats, log. Anything you do in CyberdeckWG is
stored in a log (and the same for all the players). From this log, informations are generated, using
the Infop2p furniture (a fax for the house, that permit to generate other user and game information
putting in the system yours). Inside information can be stored, addresses of places attacked, info
about deck, places seen and so on... any piece has a code, any piece can be really useful, or useless
for you, but someone can need it. Any move you do, any word you send to other is stored in the
network, inside some shop, some private house or company, or can be the treasure of a mission.
And definitely can be useful for someone.
5.7 Newspapers
A newspaper is written every day, with site news, some important happening, thing sended from
users, pieces of Information. Everybody can receive newspaper of a city, paying a little fee.
5.8 Alliances, Groups and Companies
CyberdeckWG is a social game, that means that is very important gather forces is a winning
choice. In CyberdeckWG there are 3 way to connect other people.
Alliances, that is the easiest way to form a group of people. Alliances are public, anybody can
contact, know where is the alliance (each Alliance Group and Companies have at least 1 main site,
in real life and in cyberspace). Anybody can create an alliances, but 3 people needs to accept the
terms before an alliance is definitely created. The terms of an alliance are:
● The alliance name
● Main city (the sites is given automatically)
● Type (open- anybody can join, democratic- the majority of the group have to approve,
monarchic the chief decide)
● Chief (the alliance chief)
● PR (Public Relation, whom manage contacts, messages and all communication)
● Secretary (filter on the chief, it manage also polls and requests for joining)
● Faction (the alliance reputation will begin with a 65% in the faction you choose and 50% in
the other, obviously it have 35% in the opposite faction and 50% in the last one )
The Authors Pierluigi Maori aka Newmark and Francesco Arcarese aka Sundog and Giuliano Fidanza aka Yonderboy
release this web game concept under a
Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivative Works 2.5 Italy License
Alliances can't have Deposits.
The Group is the strongest underground way to gather forces. A group is like an alliances, but,
it's not public, no house is donated by the council, the house of one the user must be used in order to
become the group cave. In the group cave can be placed Cave Furnitures like:
Card Deposit (deposit card in order to permit other to take, for exchange, and to defend the cave)
Data Deposit (deposit data in order to permit other players to read and complete a puzzle of
messages)
Money Deposit (deposit money in order to buy furnitures, datas, cards)
Research Server (permit to share research facilities between players)
Production Facilities (permit to gather information using the data deposit data to speed up)
Other things
When the group is created once 8 players accept the status, Name of the group, cave, chief. No
democratic neither monarchic neither free system. 8 people decide who is the chief, and to change
the name of the chief all but one vote are needed.
The companies are essentially the last stage of the alliances. Once 1000 persons accept the
companies statute a company is created. If an alliance (not groups) join the companies, the number
of persons in the alliance a count each. A company is an alliance that can open shops, banks,
protection agencies.
The companies needs only a name and 10.000.000kr (10.000 each person at least) as initial capital.
After that it can gather money from the owners and rent houses to become Bar, Bank, Shops, Job
rental, security agencies and so on.
5.9 Events, works, missions and temporary nodes
Time by time, there are events that the server will generate in order to permit people to interact with
the world, those events can be of 4 types:
Events (events that affect all the world or a particular zone, can be of any type, natural disaster,
economic happening, ANY type)
Works (can be found in job rental shops, in bar and other places, are long term jobs, at least 4
weeks, and can be used to gain some easy money, or take a bit of reputation)
Missions (can be found in bar and other places, are some sort of “action” that you have to do in
order to gain the mission, are hard to find, but you can earn lots of money and reputation, can be of
attack, defence, around the world or in your house)
Temporary Nodes (some times temporary nodes appear in the cyberspace, are normal people
connection, but can hide something really useful. Scan really well the net, or use the information
you get to discover those magical place full of what you can't imagine.)

5.10 Communication
That's the community site section, here there are all the usual instruments needed by a
community.
5.10.1 Mail
Messages in the game, exchange mail within users.
5.10.2 IM
Instant messaging is usefull to contact a player (friend) when he is online.
5.10.3 Forum
A forum management is needed.
