The tar.bz2 of the debian/ directory is here, it has been tested on ubuntu hardy and intrepid
On debian the dependencies have to be changed from libcurl4-gnutls-dev to libcurl3-gnutls-dev and automake1.10 to automake1.9. I will make to different files soon.
